Farming profit depends on weather, soil, seed quality, market price and your own labour. The numbers here are average estimates for Eastern India, built from typical yields and input costs. They give you a starting point for planning, not a guarantee.
Three tips before you invest
- Check the local mandi price. Replace the default price in the calculator with today’s rate in your market.
- Test your soil. A soil health card from your block agriculture office tells you the exact fertilizer your field needs and often saves money.
- Use pesticide only when needed. Scout the field weekly, spray only when pests cross the damage threshold, and always follow the label and your local Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) advice.
Land units
